The holiday Janet and I have just had has been incredibly special, memorable and delightfully wonderful so I wanted to make a short compilation including scenes in Zermatt and in Chamonix as well. I needed to look no further than John Denver's Rocky Mountain High for the backing music since I wanted to convey something of the grandeur and majesty of the Alps along with the spiritual/emotional impact they can have on the visitor. Indeed, it was with an overwhelming sense of nature's majesty that my abiding impressions of this trip will be based upon. There is simply so much awesome wonder to take in that words alone just cannot adequately describe the multi-sensory assault on the senses we experienced whilst there.
This blog will contain slideshows of photographs and movies with my original in-situ commentary which will hopefully reveal something of the numinous and spiritual dimension of the holiday. I think it will be the intensity of the feelings which will always make this trip so powerfully memorable for both of us. Therefore, let this be an appropriate introduction to the blog.
